Tested: Pistache Skincare- Pistachio Oil Hydrating Moisturizer

Pistachio is my favorite snack of the nut variety so when I heard that Sima of Pistache Skincare had created a cream moisturizer from Pistachio Oil, I just had to try it out to see if my love for pistachios would carry though from the inside to the outside! I thought that this ingredient was so innovative that I was excited at the prospect of how it would perform for my skin. Sima comes from a long line of pistachio farmers and she drew on that knowledge to create a luxe nighttime experience using pistachio oil as the hero ingredient.  Pistachio oil has amazing anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties as it is high in Vitamin E. I honestly believe that the start of any good base for makeup is good skin and the most important way to keep healthy skin smooth and supple is by feeding it with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories.  I was excited to put it to the test due to these claims and have since been using it for about a month now.  Read on to see how this performed in my nighttime routine!

Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Glycerin, Pistacia Vera (Pistachio) Seed Oil, C12-C15 Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Lecithin (Phospholipids), Polymethylsilsequioxane, Acrylates Copolymer, Allantoin, Polysorbate 60, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate.

Experience:
I used this as part of my nighttime routine for the past month by incorporating it into the end of the routine.  I would start off with a freshly washed face and then spritz my Mun Anarose Toner all over.  I would then apply my blemish spot treatment as well as my scar treatment for my acne scars.  I usually combine a serum and an oil as my final moisturizer, however, I decided to replace that step with the Pistache cream since it is supposed to work as a wonderful nourishing cream and help with the detoxification of my skin after being out and about in downtown LA all day.  I do believe that it did exactly what it claimed to do as I felt that my skin was well moisturizer after application.  The cream itself is very lightweight and it easily absorbs into the skin.  I was very excited about that fact because I was initially concerned about the oil component of the cream being too heavy/oily for my skin.  I adored the consistency of this product and found application to be a breeze.

I do wish that it came in a pump bottle instead of a cream tub( although it is made of luxe glass to keep the ingredients fresh). I find that it would be cleaner and less exposed to bacteria if the product was in a pump bottle.  While the moisturizer did not have properties of brightening and lightening or smoothing, it did work as a very solid cream that gave the skin a thoroughly moisturizer feel without the heavy residue that is often associated with other creams.  I find that anyone with combination/oily skin without any major issues such as scarring would enjoy using this cream as a nightly moisturizer. Do read the ingredients first and make sure you aren't sensitive to any of the ingredients in the list!
