One of my favorite products to test is tinted moisturizer. I am a sucker for a flawless base and I used to be the girl who wore full coverage foundation on the daily. I've come a long way since then (and tried many a good foundation along the way). If you're an avid reader of Clean Curator, then you know that I used to suffer from a lot more acne than I have currently. This period in my life started my experimentation with a lot of great base products to achieve that flawless skin that I so coveted. I've learned since then and have taken care of my skin from the inside out, with the help of some amazing products, to achieve my complexion now. Although it isn't near flawless, it is still good enough that I can now get away with wearing tinted moisturizer with concealer for spot treatment. I'm always looking for a light, non-suffocating tinted moisturizer that provides natural coverage. I believe I may have found my favorite new tinted moisturizer with the release of 14e Cosmetics! I had the pleasure of meeting with Emma Fortini, the brand's mastermind, and I was blown away with her formulations!
Emma has been working on this line for quite a while. Emma herself suffered from acne which led to her to explore more natural options. Emma merged her experience as a makeup artist with the research work of an Ayurvedic molecular biologist to create 14e Cosmetic products. I had been following her Instagram for a while in earnest anticipation of her launch and was extremely excited to be able to attend the launch of her brand at Shout and About in Echo Park.
The event was packed when I arrived. I wasn't sure what to expect but Emma offered to shade match me as well as help my friend with a shade match. What ensued was a lot of oh-ing and ah-ing! My friend and I both fell in love with the light and hydrating formulation that is perfect for California's hot summers! We both left with each of our respective Sheer Tints(and full bellies due to Starving and Single's delectable healthy offerings), purchases that didn't take long to decide on.

Experience:
This is the ultimate tinted moisturizer. The
formulation is next to none when it comes to comfort. I truly appreciate the
fact that the line uses Aloe Vera as its base ingredient AND that it is listed
as the first ingredient in the formulation. It justifies the price of the
product for me as many formulations begin with water and I find that I'm
getting maximum skincare benefits with 14e's simple and quality ingredients
list. Got Kola and Lavender calms the skin while Cucumber Extract
provides a cooling effect. I've worn this tinted moisturizer on busy 10
hour days and I had no issues with it fading away (though I do set it with
powder). It feels like there is nothing on my skin and yet it moisturizes
my skin very well. I do wish that the spf was higher than an spf of 10.
I also could do with a larger color range, but I understand that this is
a new line that will expand with time. I feel as if I am able to achieve
a healthy glow to the skin after applying this tinted moisturizer. I will say,
however, that this is for those good skin days if you are someone who suffers
from severe acne or a lot of hyper pigmentation. If that is the case, I
would suggest that you check out 14e's liquid foundation. It has much
higher coverage, however, I found that the shade selection was too limited for
me. I am Sand in the Sheer Tint, however, Sand in the liquid foundation
formulation was slightly too dark for me.
I've been wearing the 14e Sheer Tint in my latest
Instagram photos so you can use those as reference for shade!
You can check out this amazing Sheer Tint here at

Big Love,
Vanessa
Sounds great! agree with you on the SPF though...x
ReplyDeleteYes, agreed! I always love when a base product can multitask as an SPF!
DeleteHave you experimented with layering it over a high spf product?
ReplyDeleteI've layered it over a cream with SPF 30 and have had no issues!
DeleteDo you prefer their sheer tint over Honest Beauty's Tinted Moisturizer?
