Boxwalla December 2016: Let it Glow! Let it Glow! Let it Glow!

Boxwalla has been a subscription service that has been on my radar for quite a while.  I first started paying attention to them when I saw how tastefully curated their boxes always were on Instagram (and more specifically my talented friend Ni Hao New York 's Instagram).  They have a Beauty, Food, Book and Film box available under their services and I must say that ALL of the boxes are just as beautifully curated as the next.  After trying their December Beauty Box (aptly named Let it Glow! Let it Glow! Let it Glow!), I'm so much more keen on trying their other boxes.  Read on to see what products were included in the Beauty Box and how they fared upon further testing!

The packaging for this box was absolutely phenomenal.  The products were placed carefully inside a high quality cardboard box with the signature Boxwalla logo on the top.  I'm planning on keeping the box for storage in the future.  There was cute tape on the wrapping tissue when I opened the box.  I'm a huge sucker for details and this box felt like such a treat!  There were also plenty of informational cards included in the box.  I've snapped pictures of them all for you to read!

Introduction to the box.

Boxwalla is curated by a girl and a boy (both self-proclaimed "drunken Boxwallas") who curate due to their love of art in many forms. They have impeccable taste and I (as a curator myself) have complete trust in their choices after having tested this box.  They love beauty in all forms and THAT is something we all agree on.

Wabi-Sabi introduction!  I loved reading about the backgrounds of the founders!

Lina Hansen's Introduction as well as the ingredients and explanations for her Global Face Trio!

The Products:

Lina Hansen's Global Face Trio

100% Natural / Organic / Vegan / Handcrafted
Kaolin (White Clay), Limonia Acidissima (Thanaka) Wood Powder,** Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Powder* Oryza sativa (Rice) Bran Powder, Acanthopanax Senticosus (Ginseng) Stem Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo) Stem Powder, Citric Acid, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root, Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice) Root Powder, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Oil,* Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin) Peel Oil,* Limonene*** Citronellol*** Geraniol,***

*Organic ** Ethically Harvested
*** Naturally occurring in essential oils

Experience:
I didn't know if I'd enjoy this product since the entire concept of it had me confused when I first read the instructions.  However, I've been thoroughly impressed by its performance since the first use!  The powder emulsifies very well into a creamy paste with the addition of some water.  This has a fresh citrus scent and my favorite way of using this Exfoliator/Mask/Cleanser hybrid is by applying a thin layer on my face as a mask, leaving it on for about 15 minutes, and then dabbing some water on my face to use it as an exfoliating cleanser.  I've experienced great results from this product as my face is always left so soft and smooth as well as more even-toned after I use it.  I love the Kaolin's ability to draw out impurities and the Ginseng's ability for cell regeneration.  Lemongrass is exactly what my skin needs as it has antibacterial (goodbye acne!) and antiseptic properties.

Wabi-Sabi Budhi Sacha Inchi Eye Nectar

Ingredients:
Peruvian Sacha Inchi Oil*, Seabuckthorn Fruit Supercritical CO2*, Evening Primrose Oil*, Coffee Fruit Oil*, Olive Squalene*, Guava Seed Oil*,  Prickly Pear Seed Oil**, Non-GMO Mixed Tocopherols, Cacao Bean Absolute**, Tonka Bean Absolute*
*Certified Organic Ingredient **Wildcrafted ***Ethically Grown/Sourced

Experience:
First off, this eye nectar is a thin oil that does not break me out in the delicate under eye area.  That fact already puts this in my good graces!  Secondly, this eye product has a strong coffee scent right when you twist the dropper bottle open.  Make note of that for those who have a sensitive nose!  I personally have no issues with the smell as I love the scent of coffee.  This product does a great job in hydrating my under eye area but I haven't used it long enough to see drastic changes in fine lines.  I have seen that my under eyes look more nourished the next morning.  The oil has a deep orange hue that does stain so I'm always careful when applying it.  The key ingredient here is the Peruvian Sacha Inchi Oil that boasts omegas 3,6, and 9.  This gives the eye nectar the ability to reduce fine lines and truly moisturize the under eye area.  The Coffee Fruit Oil is a unique ingredient that firms and brightens the under eye area.  I can't wait to see further results from this beautiful, little product!

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer

Ingredients:
*Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), Tocopherol (non-GMO), *Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain [+/- Titanium Dioxide CI77891, Mica CI 77019]

* CERTIFIED ORGANIC

Experience:
I think this cult product really needs no introduction! This was definitely the highlight of my box as I'm a highlighter lover (and begrudgingly a highlighter hoarder).  This is the product that got me into glow, cream highlights and I was ecstatic to receive it in the box as I've only ever owned a sample of it!  This is a wonderful product that gives a healthy, lit-from-within glow to anywhere you apply it!  The look is almost wet-looking, which is a quality I don't mind.  I like to apply this on the bridge of my nose, my cheekbones, my cupid's bow, and sometimes right above the middle of my brows.  I also enjoy applying this on my collar bones and literally anywhere on my body that I'd like to highlight.  I also love the simple, non fussy ingredients list that RMS has become known for!

Final Thoughts:

This box has been one for the records!  I'm so glad that I ended up genuinely enjoying each and every one of the thoughtfully curated products.  Honestly, I'm so interested in not only trying out their future beauty boxes but also their book and food boxes!  Please let me know your thoughts below and if you've ever tried Boxwalla!  I'm happily impressed!

Big Love,

Vanessa
