Tested: Herbivore Botanicals Coco Body Polish

I just don't have the time to really indulge in a bath ritual these days.  My personal method to combat this is to use a body scrub about once or twice a week to really keep me from having those bath withdrawals.  This Coco Rose body polish is my first time testing out any product from the Herbivore Botanicals brand.  I fell in love immediately upon opening the package when I was greeted by a waft of coconut and rose notes.  The rest was history.  Let's just say that my initial impressions have set high expectations for the rest of the brand.

Consistency: This body polish is composed of coconut oil and sea salt which exfoliates without being too abrasive.  I find that I have quite sensitive skin and I had no problems with the exfoliating process.  The coconut oil leaves a scent that is much more overpowering than the rose scent, which is a quality that I prefer since I appreciate the coconut oil scent much more.  The polish is a bit oily upon scraping it out of the tub and it easily melts into the skin as the salt dissolves.  It leaves behind a beautiful sheen and suppleness to the skin.  There is also a lingering scent of coconuts that is beautiful even hours after using the product.

Here are the ingredients for your consideration:

Full list of ingredients: Raw Sugar, Virgin Coconut Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Capric Triglycerides, Bulgarian Rose Absolute, Vitamin E Oil

Experience: I initially used this body polish as a lazy means to exfoliate on days when I felt like giving my Konjac Sponge a break.  This quickly became a weekly staple because of the way it left my body feeling so soft.  One thing I will note is that there may feel like a thin film over your body if you use too much of the product at once.  This has occurred to me before and I didn't mind because I was comfortable with the coconut oil nourishing my skin.  If this is something that may bother you, just remember to apply a small amount as you go.  I love the convenience of the packaging as I just need to dig in( with clean hands) and scoop out as much as is needed.  It truly feels like a wonderful treat each week when I am able to use this body polish and it definitely takes a lot less time than soaking in a bath!  After a few weeks of using this body polish twice a week, I've noticed that my skin is generally softer and my legs do not look as lackluster in undertone.  The scent is just intoxicating and just the act of breathing it in while you are in the shower is an aromatherapy experience all in its own.

it almost feels too expensive when you see that the formula is relatively simple. x

    1. Thanks so much for your comment, Audrey!

I completely get what you're saying because, at first, I was a bit skeptical for the same reasons. A few things that convinced me to just bite the bullet is that Curator Prints was having a huge sale on their Beauty products and I truly felt that if I had went out to purchase the raw ingredients and mix it myself, it would definitely not have turned out as well as this product. I would assume that the places that they source their ingredients and the method in which they make it is much better than my own amateur ways! That's not to say I won't give it a go myself in the future when I have more time but this has definitely been a treat that I love using once in a while! Definitely worth it in my opinion!

      Big Love,

      Vanessa
