Tested: Kimberley Sayer of London Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer spf 30
Thursday, May 21, 2015
I've mentioned this sunscreen/moisturizer hybrid in my previous posts on the blog and instagram several times already but never have I sat down and written a review for you describing why I swear by this product! This ultra light(as the name suggests) moisturizer is the perfect grab-and-go product for all year round! This is going to be your best friend throughout the summer if you prefer a very light finish, citrus scent, and spf 30 protection under the sun! There is good reason behind the importance of sun screen as it is a largely important preventative measure against aging, hyper pigmentation, and diseases of the skin. You're going to need a great, multi-purpose sunscreen if you're going to use it every singe day. This is the one for me and I hope you'll want to seek this out for yourself after reading the post!
Consistency: Forget all of your worries about sticky, thick sunscreen that sits uncomfortably on your skin. This has a very light, thin consistency that is still liquid but almost gel-like. It spreads easily across the face and dries quite quickly. Once it settles into the skin, it feels as if it is not there and very much resembles just a light moisturizer( which it is)! The feel and texture of this moisturizer will work great with oily and combination skinned complexions but it can also work well with dry skin as well though I believe dry-skinned individuals will have to apply a bit more to achieve a fully moisturized face. It has a very pleasant light citrus smell that I feel many people will enjoy. There is absolutely no white cast given off of this sunscreen. This sunscreen contains Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide as the mineral sunscreen components as well as Sunflower Seed Oil, Aloe Vera, Safflower Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Sea Algae Extract, Lemon Oil, Glycerin, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Green Tea Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Eucalyptus Leaf Oil, Xanthum Gum(Vegetable), and Benzyl Alcohol(Plant Alcohol Preservative).
Experience: First and foremost, I apply about three pumps of this per morning as I heard that the proper amount for spf 30 protection is three pumps of this product. This wears so well on my skin and is so light that I have no issues putting a more moisturizing foundation on my skin afterwards. Although I did mention that this has a light consistency, I still have great results of sun protection from this product. I've worn it outside in the sun as I walked around the city for about 5 hours and have experienced no sun damage or sun burns in the California weather. I haven't tested this product on an entire day out at the beach just yet so I have yet to see if it can hold up during more extreme sun exposure, however, from my current experience I see no reason to believe this would not hold up on a beach outing. The pump and packaging of the product is perfect for busy people who just need to slap on some sunscreen before makeup application so that they may run out the door as fast as possible to their next appointment. It is a bigger sized plastic bottle than I am used to for my other green products but I do not mind the size at all since I am getting 4 oz of product. This has lasted me quite a while since I've only gone through 1/4 of the bottle but I've had it for months!
This product is $33 at B-glowing and other sites, however, I truly believe it is a great investment to make! Do it for your skin! You can find the product HERE. (There is 10% off if you apply the promo code: BGWLC3 )
What sunscreen are you currently loving or what are the products you are planning to stock up on for summer? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Big Love,
Vanessa

This looks seriously cool Vanessa! I love how in depth your reviews are :) I do like SPF 30, but I'd probably opt for something that's closer to SPF 50. Slightly off topic, but have you tried the watery ones from Biore? I found them in Asia a few years ago, and loved the consistency. <3 Ally
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Ally!
DeleteI usually don't mind the difference between spf 30 and 50, is there a particular reason why you prefer spf 50? I haven't tried that one from Biore but I have seen the one you are talking about! I really love water-gel consistency moisturizers so I can see myself really loving it!
Love, Vanessa
Hi Vanessa :D Yes, usually because the lower the SPF, the more often you have to reapply the sunscreen. So SPF 50 means that you have to reapply every hour, versus SPF 30 which is every half an hour. But I usually try to wear a nice UPF 50 hat to protect my face and neck as well :) Yes, my favorite was the blue one-- I remember there were penguins on it, so adorable. It was so much cheaper in Taiwan, so I haven't purchased it here in California.
DeleteCan't thank you enough for introducing me to this sunscreeen!!<3 It's truly awesome and I'm so happy I bought it! :)) xx
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad that it works just as well for you as it does for me, Jana!
DeleteBig Love! Vanessa
Thanks for reviewing this! I'm been looking to try a new sunscreen. I'm thinking about trying either this one or the one from Pratima. I currently use one from Kiss My Face and Mychelle. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jess! I've never tried the one from Pratima but if you love a light, effective sunscreen then this one would be it for you! I've purchased the Mychelle one but haven't gotten to trying it yet! I've heard great things about it, though!
DeleteThank you for the comment!
Big love, Vanessa
