Curated Box: Goodbeing January 2016 (Gia Minerals, Curandera Remedies, Balanced Guru)

I'm usually one to be picky about subscription boxes.  They are either packed full of sample sized products that I will never use (or will never use up) or they are consistently sending the same things that I end up hoarding.  You can see why I was initially apprehensive about testing out the Goodbeing box when the company first reached out to me.  However, I had heard a lot about Goodbeing (formerly Goodebox) so I decided to give it a try.  The stand out feature of this box, personally, is how specifically curated it is for each individual's needs. The initial survey to determine the best products to send was thoroughly detailed.  I've found many reasons to love this box and I absolutely can't wait to see what they have in store for February! There's something for all aspects of my beauty and wellness routine in this box.   Read on for all the juicy details of January's Goodbeing Box!

Curandera Remedies Kapalabati Cold & Sinus Herbal Oil (0.5 oz)

Ingredients:
Neem infused grapeseed oil, Vitamin E, EO blend (eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, camphor, spruce)

Experience:
I was shocked at how well this worked!  I don't have any major sinus issues, however, I've been feeling seasonally blocked up due to the weather and I found this little bottle very nifty in my battle against the stuffy nose in this cold weather we've been having in Southern California!  I find that this size of product will definitely be lasting me quite a while.  The scent of this oil is minty and pleasant (in fact it reminds me of an herbal take on Vicks).  I found no problems with the scent as it lingered in my olfactory senses.  The oil was not too heavy or uncomfortable.  I've been keeping this in my travel makeup bag just to smell during a rough commute, dab under the nose for relief from blocked nose, and as a chest rub to really loosen up any tightness.

Gia Minerals Blush (Stunning) (3 g.)

Ingredients:
Mica, Sericite, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, *Green Tea, *Jojoba, *Calendula, *Rosemary

Experience:
Here's the thing, I don't enjoy any glitter in my blushes.  I am an avid glitter-avoider.  I wasn't too pleased when I saw that this blush was not matte but I decided to try it since I'm a big proponent of "I'll try anything once" in green beauty.  I am so glad I did.  This blush really blew me away with its simple ingredients, pigmentation, and color.  It translates as a flush of healthy pink on my complexion and the glitters just give my cheeks a glow as opposed to a spattering of 5-year-old fantasy.  I do find that this blush wears down in color after a 10 hr wear day.  The color is still present but it is less intensely present.  I'm also not a fan of loose powder anything, however, I haven't had too much trouble with this product and it does not create a mess. It also wears very comfortably and is not too dry.

Balanced Guru Tone it Lightly(1 oz.)

Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Alcohol Denat*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract*, Glycerin*, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract*, Aqua (Water), Ascophyllum Nodosum (Kelp) Extract*, Spirulina Platensis (Spirulina) Extract*, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Fruit Peel Oil*, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Powder*, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil*, StyraxTonkinesis (Benzoin) Resin Oil*, Cedrus Atlantica (Cedarwood) Wood Oil*, Daucus Carota (Carrot) Seed Oil*.
*Certified Organic Ingredients.

Experience:
This was a pleasant toner that managed to refresh my face and give it a light pick-me-up before the rest of my skincare routine.  The properties within the toner such as Witch Hazel and Tea Tree are meant to help with blemishes (which is a problem I've been having as of late).  I did not experience any major difference with how frequent my breakouts occurred and I did not see a change in the amount of spots that would appear on the daily.  My hormonal breakouts have been getting out of control lately so this wasn't tested against a normal skin situation but I didn't see any significant improvement on that front.

Balanced Guru Face it Lightly (1 oz.)

Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Sucrose Cocoate*, Alcohol Denat*, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein*, Xanthan Gum, Cymbopogan Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Oil*, Flavor, Aloysia Triphylla Leaf (Lemon Verbena) Hydrosol*, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract*, Citrus Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Peel Oil*, Aqua (Water), Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarosa) Grass Oil*, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil*, Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Oil*, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Oil*, Arnica Montana (Arnica) Flower Extract*, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract*, Matricaria Recutita (German Chamomile) Flower Oil*, Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E).
*Certified Organic Ingredients.

Experience:
This was a great, mild cleanser for a refreshing start to my days!  I loved using this in the morning and always felt refreshed afterwards since this has such a fresh herbal scent.  I also loved that my face felt so clean after using this product without feeling stripped of moisture.  I love that feeling as I am a combo-oily skin type but I can imagine that drier skin types would not gravitate towards this type of cleanser.  This dispenses as a yellow cream that has a refreshing herbal scent.  I had issues with the pump of this travel-sized bottle as I found that the dispenser did not dispense much product each time I pressed(thus giving me a bit of a thumb workout).  Thyme and Tea Tree Oil have been included in the ingredients to help with sebum production throughout the day.  I felt that my skin still retained its normal oil levels throughout the day.

L-R: Balanced Guru Face it Lightly Cleanser, Balanced Guru Nourish Me Facial Serum

Balanced Guru Nourish Me Facal Serum (Full Size)

Ingredients:
Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil*, Rosa Rubiginosa Seed (Rosehip) Oil*, Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil*, Lecithin*, Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Oil*, Corthellus Shiitake (Mushroom) Extract*, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil*, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Fower Oil* Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract*, Lycium Barbarium (Goji) Fruit Extract*
*Certified Organic Ingredients.

Experience:
This was a great, gentle beauty oil that I loved to mix with my Moonlight Catalyst Serum for an overnight moisture concoction.  This oil did not aggravate my skin or cause any breakouts (which is a rarity among oils so I'm pleasantly surprised).  I felt that it definitely helped with moisturizing my face and did not feel heavy on the skin at all.  If moisture is what you are looking for and you have sensitive skin, this product should be right up your alley.  I'm usually extremely sensitive to oils so it truly speaks a lot that this oil did not break me out whatsoever.  I'm also so surprised that Goodbeing included a facial oil as a full-sized product as the price of this product alone justifies the price of the entire box!

Final Thoughts:
Again, the unique selections for each subscriber of Goodbeing is what truly blows me away.  I loved the items in my box(though some more than others) and can't wait to see what else is in store for the rest of the year!  The diversity of selections makes the inner beauty addict in me so excited!  I was able to experience a full skincare routine, a new makeup item, and a portable product for wellness in this month's Goodbeing alone.  I'm definitely impressed!

Head on over HERE* to check out Goodbeing!

Hint: You may just find a sneak peak of the February box that's definitely not to be missed!
