Tested: Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer ( Fair, Light ), Nocturne Mascara, Libre Lip Gloss (Pearly Rose Pink, Burgundy Cherry )

Have you ever been excited about a brand before it'd been released?  I have.  I had heard about Hynt Beauty's launch because it had previously been Christopher Drummond.  You know, the much acclaimed Duo-phase concealers? That was Christopher Drummond's hero product.  Needless to say, I was excited to try their concealer and mascara(since I'm a huge mascara lover).  I placed and initial order with them and received samples of their Libre lip glosses and that is when I fell head over heels for the entire line.  I was completely perplexed as to how I could love a lip gloss so much when I usually despised them!  It was Ashley, the green beauty babe behind Green Bunny Blog and Green Bunny Video that really gave me the push to give their glosses a try.  I'm very grateful I did and can happily say that I'm extremely impressed with the brand.

L-R: Libre Luxurious Lip Gloss in Pearly Rose Pink, Burgundy Cherry

Libre Luxurious Lip Gloss

Consistency:  I love these glosses! They go on quite slick and, initially, it felt like they kept slipping around on my lips.  However, they set so beautifully after about 10 minutes and feel more creamy without slipping off.  I also love the scent which comes off a bit fruity to me.

  • Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla Wax), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Essential Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract*, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Mica, Iron Oxides.

    May Contain:
    Manganese Violet.

Top-Bottom: Libre Luxurious Lip Gloss Pearly Rose Pink, Burgundy Cherry

Pearly Rose Pink
Experience: This is the first gloss sample I had been sent and it was love at first swipe.  I love how neutral it is.  This has a beautiful neutral pink tone that complements any look. It does not leave any stain on my lips and sits comfortably for the entire day.  However, it loses pigment after eating so I usually reapply it.

Experience: Burgundy Cherry is a beautiful dark-toned red that gives a glossy, burgundy finish to the lips. I've been reaching for this constantly during the winter season.  I love the way that this color complements my fair-light skin tone and I truly feel that I'll be using this quite often into the other seasons as well.  This slightly stains my lips a light wash of reddish pink after it wears off but I have no problems with that.

Consistency:  This is neither a dry nor wet mascara that has traditional bristles on its brush.  This is standard sized and I didn't find the mascara wand to be too uncomfortably big or too thin.  The bristles make it so that the mascara can catch each lash as it separates and lengthens.  This comes in a black metal tube that I find to be nice and minimalistic.

  • Water (Aqua), Chamomille Hydrosol (Matricaria Recutita)*, Cera Alba (Beeswax)*, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Shellac, Stearic Acid, Organic Oryza Sativa (Rice) Powder*, Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerol, Lecithin*, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Origanum Vulgare (Oregano) Leaf Extract*, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract*, Cinnamomum Zeylancum (Cinnamon) Bark Extract*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract*, Hydrastis Canadensis (Goldenseal) Root Extract*, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract*, Caprylyl Glycol, Iron Oxides. Natural Preservative System.

Experience:  I also love this product just as much as the others I've tried from Hynt.  I'm a HUGE mascara fan, and I've tried my fair share of natural mascaras.  This has equaled the 100% Pure Fruit pigmented lengthening mascara in Black Tea as holding the top spot in my mascara hall of fame.  I love how this builds up volume and length beautifully on my lashes while not making a mess in the area around my eyes.  I find that this does smudge on the outer lower corners of my eyes just a bit at the end of a 10 hour day.  Once I wipe the smudge off, however, it is back to normal.  Due to this, I don't have a huge issue with the small amount of smudging.  I have yet to find a green beauty mascara that does not smudge at all.  This has been the mascara I've been reaching for daily. Actions speak louder than words!

Consistency:  This concealer formula is heavy duty and the coverage is very full.  On that note, this is a bit of a drier formula than all of the other concealers I have owned.  A little bit of this concealer goes a long way and I believe the value for this is great given how much product they give you(8.5 g.).  The Fair shade has a pink undertone and the Light shade has a yellow undertone.

  • Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tri-Isostearlyl Citrate, Acacia Decurrens/Jojoba/Sunflower seed wax, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) seed oil, , Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopherol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E-natural preservative), Oleic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) oil, Boron Nitride, Theobroma Grandiflorum (Cupuacu) Seed butter.

May contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491,
    77492, 77499).

L-R: Duet Perfecting Concealer Fair, Light

Experience:  I've been breaking out a lot lately.  I attribute it to my eating habits for the past week( think In-n-Out for breakfast) as well as my hormones.  Either way, I've had to really rely on this concealer recently and it has not failed me once!  The formula is great for those with spots or dark pigmentation they need to cover because it is so full in coverage and the drier consistency allows the concealer to stay put all day.  I did not have any problems with this fading throughout the day.  I also didn't have issues with this accentuating my dry patches too much, however, since it is a less wet formula, it did still show the dry patches.  I actually own this in two colors since I use Light on my spots and Fair on my under eyes.  I absolutely LOVE this for my dark circles.  While it is a bit dry for the under eye area, I just put my 100% Pure Caffeine Eye cream underneath and the moisturization that that gives counteracts the dryness of the formula.  I find that this concealer in Fair really knocks out my dark circles and brightens up my under eyes.  I can truly fake a full sleep even though I've probably had 5-6 hours.

Hynt sample packaging: Duet Perfecting Concealers and Libre Luxurious Lip Glosses

I've truly enjoyed every product from this line and I believe they deserve more mention in the Green Beauty community!  I'll be testing out their skincare range next as I'm the biggest sucker for skincare!

Have a beautiful week!

Big Love,

  1. I'm really interested in trying some Hynt products but I feel like I have so much already and I'm already a real minimalist that I feel like if I bought anymore, I they would go to waste or I'd feel too rushed to try them all and not enjoy the experience. That being said, I really value your input and will try at least a gloss (which I'm generally not a fan of either) because that's one thing I can give to my sister if things go south. lol I haven't found a good natural mascara besides herbanluxe on Etsy. I absolutely detest the 100% Pure one. It was horrible horrible. Maybe I got a bad batch? But when I emailed them about it, I got such an indifferent response that I don't think I'll ever order makeup (besides lippies) from them again. I've thought about emailing again but it's already been so long... I'll just end up writing about the experience on my blog some day. Interested to catch up on your posts and thank you for being forthright in your opinions and experiences. ♥

    1. Kiki! Do you currently have a blog? I'd love to read it if you do! I agree, I didn't have an amazing experience with the 100% Pure customer service either. However, I do love their mascara! I find that I enioy Hynt beauty's a bit better than theirs. I have the same feeling as you regarding all of the makeup and skincare I own. The way I combat that is to give any items I won't use to my friends so they can have more loving homes! The gloss is great! Burgundy Cherry would look STUNNING on you!

  2. Thank you for such a lovely blog post.
