[GIVEAWAY] Tested: pureSOL Konjac Facial Sponge & Body Sponge (Original)

I've always been a huge fan of konjac sponges ever since I gave up the Clarisonic ages ago.  The thing is, I've always had an issue with how quickly the sponges deteriorated whenever I used them daily.  The past konjac sponges that I have used have all ripped and shredded after a month or two of use and the constant wringing of the sponge post-use usually ripped the sponge quite quickly.  Enter pureSOL, who reached out to ask if I'd like to test their sponges and I swear my shower game has never been the same.  These sponges truly hold up to daily wear and tear and I'm excited to try their other formulations once these have come to the end of their lifespan!  Read on to see why I'm so obsessed!

Consistency:  Both of the sponges are composed of 100% Pure Konjac root fiber and water.  I love that this sponge is truly what it says it is without any extra fillers.  I find that they are both sturdier and less prone to crack than the other konjac sponges that I've purchased and used in the past.

Face Konjac Sponge (Original)-includes a plastic suction hook and a string is attached to the sponge

Experience: This cleansing sponge has worked really well in helping me finish my double cleanse properly each night as it manages to gently exfoliate all of the extra residue that was still left on my face after I initially cleansed with my makeup remover or makeup removing oil.  I have had other konjac face sponges before but none that were as sturdy as this.  The other konjac sponges I've used prior to this have all been thinner and they tended to rip after a few weeks to a month of use.  I have been using this sponge for a few weeks now and have not had any issues with tearing, which I truly appreciate because that means that I do not have to constantly reorder new sponges.  I did not notice any huge differences with the effects I received from using this konjac sponge vs. other sponges.  They all made my gel cleansers foam much better than if I had used my bare hands and they have all exfoliated my skin well.  My skin is left soft and cleansed, never irritated.  In this sense, I believe the best quality of this sponge is that it is so substantial and feels higher in quality than previous face sponges I've used.  I can count on this to last me for quite a while and that makes me feel like this is an economical purchase.  I also love how large the sponge can get as it is in its wet form and the circular shape helps me easily reach all areas of my face vs. the tear-drop shaped sponges that I have used previously that were not so efficient in reaching smaller crevices.  My only complaint is that, although it was a wonderful idea to include the suction cups,  I've tried using the plastic suction hook that it have come attached with for both the shower and the mirror in front of my sink and they have not held up for longer than a few minutes.

Body Konjac Sponge(Original)-includes a plastic suction hook and a string is attached to the sponge

Experience: I've always preferred using a konjac sponge as opposed to a loofah in the shower.  My past loofahs have always unraveled and I always felt like they were too abrasive for my skin.  I then transitioned into using a red clay body konjac sponge that I purchased from Amazon.  Within a mere one and a half months, the sponge had ripped from all of the times I had tried to properly rinse the soap out of it.  Needless to say, I had to toss it and my search continued for the perfect companion to my shower experience.  I've been using this body sponge for a few weeks now and my favorite thing about this sponge has been the resistance it has to any wear and tear.  I've been able to use it, rinse it, and repeat with no cracks and no worries.  It definitely feels sturdier and I feel that my skin has been a lot more cleansed since I switched from this to my last konjac sponge( which, in its defense, I purchased for $4 so you do get what you pay for).  I had been suffering from some new spots on my back due to recent stress and I do believe that this sponge worked better to cleanse my back than the previous one I had been using which I had purchased from a Japanese market.  My spots have gone and I'm left with clearer skin.

I truly love these cleansing products so much so that I'm planning on testing out the Turmeric option that they offer after these go into retirement(I've already made my purchase!)

  7. I've tried a two types of konjac sponges before. The first one was an entirely new experience. I could wake up, warm the water, and use the sponge to clean my face. No fuss! I didn't need to use cleaner or anything like that. Then I found this set on Amazon where you get three different types all in the shape of a heart. Well, I went through them and no luck. You've made me interested in them again! I would love to win, but also I'm glad I found your blogspot! Looking forward to more posts! ^_^

    1. Thank you so much, Kiki! This has truly been my favorite Konjac Sponge to date! I didn't experience any breaking apart and that's what happened with my previous ones(or they were too flimsy). Good luck!!! Also, is that K-ON! in your profile photo? I used to watch that and loved it!

    1. Ah, I just purchased some apple cider vinegar as a toner for my boyfriend! I love bentonite clay or any clay mask for that reason! Good luck!

  9. I haven't had any break on me yet, but I understand that's been a problem for some people. I think if you don't wring it out and instead press out the water, it should last the full three months. I, admittedly, used one for quite a bit longer - but it really just depends on the sponge (as you've noticed). It was a bit tougher so I wonder if there weren't some type of fillers, although it did say 100% konjac. You never know these days. lol AND YES! It's Azusa from K-On! ♥
