Kypris Pot of Shade: Heliotropic

If you've been with me since the beginning, then you'll know that Kypris holds a very special place in my heart as they were the first green beauty brand that I really fell in love with.  I'd go as far as to say that they were the brand who inspired me to pursue more green beauty options in my skincare closet.  I was so ecstatic when my dear friend Melissa of Guide to Wellness won their recent giveaway and decided that I would be her plus one in the gift giving! I decided to choose an old favorite, the Moonlight Catalyst, and a new release, the Heliotropic Pot of Shade SPF 30. Unfortunately, the Moonlight Catalyst was sold out at the moment so they decided to send me the Antioxidant Dew which is also a favorite of mine ( review HERE) so I truly couldn't complain! I'm here to review their new sunscreen here on the Clean Curator, and guys, it feels like I'm taking it way back!  Join me in this throw back to see why I have fallen in love with this product!

Experience:
This sunscreen is amazing! The basic details are that it doesn't leave any white residue, it layers very well under makeup( in fact it enhances the look of my base products), it is light, and it doesn't have any offensive scent.  This is an SPF 30 sunscreen that truly checks off all of the requirements that I have for my sunscreens.  In an ideal situation, I'd love if the product had an SPF 50 but I am alright with this level of protection since I'm usually indoors during the day.  This is a non-nano broad spectrum sunscreen.  Kypris claims that this product plumps and smooths the skin and I could not agree more.  This product is free from essential oils so it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin.  The hero ingredients in this product are Sweet Iris Stem Cells that enhance the skin to appear more plump, smooth, and luminous.  Chaparral acts as an antioxidant in the product and Sunflower imparts a plethora of fatty acids and beta carotenes.  Sea Algae rounds out the list by giving deep moisturization to your skin.

I would like to note that it is suggested to apply this product liberally about 15 minutes before going into the sun.  It is also recommended to reapply every 2 hours.

My only qualm is that I wouldn't have purchased this product myself due to its hefty $68 price tag for 27 ml of product.  If this is within your price range, then I'd say, go for it! This is a truly luxurious gift to your skin and I definitely would repurchase it if it wasn't out of my budget!

Big love,

Vanessa

  1. The product is quite expensive. There are many other cheap yet effective broad spectrum sunscreens available in the market that give good results. Do this one makes you sweat?
